Jin of BTS named 'elite soldier,' gets early promotion

 

Jin, a member of the globally renowned K-pop group BTS, has received an early promotion to the rank of Corporal in the South Korean military. 

The announcement came after he was recognized as an "elite soldier" due to his exceptional physical abilities, as well as his social skills and amiable personality. 

Jin, who is currently serving as an assistant instructor at a front-line infantry division boot camp in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province, started his military service in December 2020 and is scheduled to be discharged on June 12, 2024. 

Originally, his promotion was expected to take place in September, but it was advanced due to the prestigious title he received for his outstanding performance. The title of "elite soldier" is granted to individuals who excel in various aspects of training, including physical endurance, marksmanship, first aid, vigilance, CBR (Chemical, Biological, Radiological) training, and individual combat. 

Soldiers who receive this title are distinguished by wearing a special emblem on their uniforms and are provided with opportunities for early promotion and additional leave. 

Jin's early promotion reflects his dedication and commitment to his military duties, and it is a testament to his exceptional capabilities as both an artist and a soldier.
